'The Hymn of Creation' can be enjoyed at multiple individual levels and collectively at all levels. A motley gathering of characters – some borrowed and some very much unique – take you along on a journey that is every bit thought invoking, intriguing, and pure fun. And, don't you think there is no time travel in a flying saucer, either. But that is only after we have unraveled the wormhole, so to say, right in our midst. It all begins when I find myself in this intractable and dense jungle that I am having great difficulty in making my way through. So, when I stumble upon this clearing with an oversized mushroom at its center I am both relieved and curious in equal measure. Curious because there is a caterpillar atop it smoking a hookah. While the likes of us may not think much about caterpillars, this one surprises me quite out of my shoes. What is neo classical rendition of Newton's First Law of Motion, it asks me. And while I am still fumbling, he tells me that the First Law should actually have read something like this: All objects and bodies must continue to remain in perpetual motion towards the Future, irrespective of any unbalancing forces acting upon it. That is by no means the end of our conversation, and, of course, just the beginning of all my troubles. Further into the jungle, I meet the gorgeous looking Sara at Uncle Max's. Unfortunately, everyone here seems to have just one fad, which you will learn by and by. As she tells me over a drink in the midst of nowhere, our 'here-nows' must follow the Caterpillar's modified First Law too. And I quote her words: Everyone's 'here-now' is helplessly stuck to the center of the Minkowski hourglass that they have drawn themselves into. While their 'here-nows' are constantly trying to move into the Future light cone, they never quite make it since however much the 'here-now' tries it can't get rid of either the 'here' or the 'now'. It must carry the Present along too, which means that it can never be the next moment in the Future. This, as I had said earlier, is just the beginning of more trouble since you have missed quite a bit that lies in between. And while I would have liked to tell you more, I am, unfortunately, fast approaching the limits to my word count.
