(which is now part of the London District of Southwark). He originated from a bad home. His dad, James, was a Christian who came from the Glasite sect. Mark Twain: Mark Twain is arguably one of the most famous authors in the United States, with his books Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. His characters were a typical and yet deviant episode of the time period in which he lived, depicting the circumstances under which many people lived.
